• The rate of warming is increasing.  The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in the last 400 years!  According to a number of climate studies, this may be the warmest temperatures we'll be seeing for at least a Milena!
• The Arctic are feeling the effects most.  The temperatures in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia have risen twice the global average. 
• Some experts point out that sometimes natural cycles in Earth's orbit can alter the planet's exposure to sunlight.  This is why earth is experiencing cooling's and warming's roughly every hundred thousand years, but now they are occurring within the span of several centuries.

More ways to help stop Global Warming

• Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb
• Reuse your shopping bags
• Use less hot water whenever possible
• Make sure that all electronic devices are turned of when not needed
• Spread the word!  Tell friends and family about it
• Protect forests - they store a lot of the worlds carbon emissions
• If possible use clotheslines instead of dryer
• Buy smart! Try not buying a lot of bottled water

Global Warming facts

• Arctic ice is rapidly decreasing and it is estimated that by 2040 or sooner that the region will be an ice free zone
• The average temperature of the world has increased by 0.8 degrees Celsius.  That may not seem alot, but it still has a huge impact on the world
• Recently there has been a increase of wild fires, heat waves, and strong tropical winds
• The events that most effect the environment are:  Industrialization's, deforestation, and pollution. 
• The people are pouring more dangerous gases in to the atmosphere faster then the plants and oceans can absorb
• These gases stay in the atmosphere for years so even if we stopped all greenhouse emissions global warming would not stop immediately

What the Government is doing.

The Government made a law called the Clean Air act to help make the air more breathable.  In some serious cases the people can get very bad illnesses and sometimes even die.  They have also gotten some industries to change their products in order to decrease the problems.

Alternative ideas

Another way of conserving fossil fuels are using alternative fuels, such as: biodiesel. Biodiesel is a renewable resource that we can get from vegatables oils and the fat from animals. So instead of using fossil fuels to run our cars we can use biodiesel which is less harmful for our environment.
